In 2009 established Unexpected Toy as a small business for the design and online sale of craft push molds. From 2010-2014 sold a line of handcrafted articulated art toys called Pomodi Beast.
These figures are no longer being sold. Unexpected Toy is now used as a studio name and is no longer selling eCommerce.
Right Now: The Challenge
On December 28, 2014 began a daily creative challenge*. Make an original art creation once a day. More than one can be created, but at least one should be posted online as evidence.
Goal: Create something within a two to three hour window.
Tools of Choice: Zbrush with Wacom tablet, Keyshot rendering software, Photoshop CC
Difficulties: No skip days, time off, or vacation. Something must be posted no matter what the circumstances.
* This challenge never promised anyone that each day’s creations would be aesthetically good, for a specific audience, or even if I was happy with it. Only that I would make the attempt then post the result. This is important because this lets me try things and fail. There have been some amazing failures. And by posting this work I'm able to track what works and what does not.
